The Challenge

Salesforce, as a founding member of Pledge 1%, wanted to give back with a 1-1-1 model, committing to giving 1% of product, time, and resources. Salesforce.org and the Salesforce EMEA team were looking for new volunteering opportunities for employees to give their time. They needed a solution that could deliver maximum impact, be made available worldwide, truly engage their people, and allow for mass participation.

The Solution

Salesforce adopted GlobalGivingTime to provide alternative volunteering opportunities. They even integrated GlobalGivingTime into their new hire onboarding process, with employees getting to know one another and Salesforce’s corporate values by participating in GlobalGivingTime team workshops.

The Results

To date, more than 1,000 Salesforce volunteers across three continents have participated in workshops or logged online remotely during their regular workday. They’ve responded to more than 1,000 challenges posted on GlobalGivingTime, using their skills to provide a total value of $36,000 to 270 global nonprofits.
